TREICKLE-UP/DOWN EFFECT
DOWN - the flow of wealth from the affluent to poor. It is a marketing phenomenon. The theory states that the lowest social class adopts the fashion, it is n longer desirable to the leaders in the highest social class.
UP - the flow of wealth from poor to the affluent. Trickle-up effect is the newest of the fashion movement theories. In this theory the innovation is initiated from the street and adapted from lower income groups. the innovation eventually flows to upper-income groups; thus the movement is from the bottom up.
trickle Both of theories are "productive" and popular and already have found their followers. It is a phenomenon of fashion "adaptation" for both high and low classes. Some people adore it, some ignore. However, these theories have become extremely popular and viable and have been embodied in such brands like Zara, H&M, Mango( Down effect). Chanel, who believed that all fahion ideas come from the streets; following World War 2 the young generation discovered Army/Navy surplus stores and began to wear khaki pants and pea jackets. Another cathegory of clothing, the T-shirt, initially worn by laborers and practical undergarment, has since been adopted by all people all over the world as a casual style.
These theories are the mix of luxury and commonness, interpenetration of gorgeousness and poverty. Your attitude to the phenomenon can be absolutely different but I am 100% sure that you have at least one thing of "up&down" in your wardrobe!))
