Have you ever thought about prices? Why do you pay for one or another garment exactly this prace and no cheaper/more expensive? So, to answer this quastion I will try to make a small "price research".
For example, my leather trousers costs 400 pounds. This is the RRP - Reecomended Retail Price. Our first step is to divide by 2.7 - Store Mark-up.
400:2.7=148.15 - this is the Whole Sale
Next, didvide the whole saly by 1.5 - 50%Pprofit
148.15:1.5=98.7 - this is the Total Cost
Then, we have to subtract 50 pounds - Production
98.7-50=48.7
Next step is to divide 48.7 by 1.1 - Surcharge - the price for water, gas, etc.
48.7:1.1=44.3
Then, we need to subtract the Notions - buttons(3.50 ), zipps(0.05 ), fusing( 0.50 ), etc.
So, 44.3-4.05=40.25
Our final step is to divide 40.25 by the fabric - 1.5 mtrs
40.25:1.5=26.8
So, the price per meter is 26.8 pounds
Moving backward:
For example a silk dress.
Price per meter is 35 pounds, we need 3 meters 35#3=105
Plus Notions - zips - 3.50, fusing - 1.48
105+5.34=110.34
Next, multiply on 1.1 - Surcharge
110.34#1.1=121.37
Plus the Production - 60 pounds
121.37+60=181.37 - this is the Total Price
Multiply on 50% Profit - 1.5
181.37#1.5=272.05 - the Whole Sale Price
Then multiply on 2.7 - Store Mark-up
272.05#2.7=734.5
the RRP for a dress is 734.5 pounds
So, now we know a bit more about the price origination.
